Export a Word document
Choose File → Export as Word…, or Export as Word… in the toolbar's Export menu, and save the .docx file.
The result is editable: Markdown headings become Word's Heading 1–6 styles, lists use native numbering, and tables remain real tables with repeating header rows. Emphasis, links, code, image descriptions, the detected title, and content language are retained. Common mathematical expressions become editable Word equations. Headings work with Word's Navigation Pane and can be used to insert a table of contents in Word.
Like PDF, Word exports record the document title, GlyphGlance as the creating application, and creation and modification dates for the export. Word's Summary tab shows only some of these properties.
Mermaid diagrams are embedded as SVG vector graphics, not screenshots, with a compatibility image for readers that cannot display SVG. Modern Microsoft Word uses the vector version. Diagram sizes are constrained to the page, preserving their proportions. Diagrams are graphics, not individually editable Word flowchart shapes.
Word controls text flow and pagination, so this is not a pixel-identical copy of the preview. Use PDF for fixed-layout sharing. The selected Markdown profile is respected; footnotes remain linked notes at the end, and code uses a monospace style without syntax colors. Source bitmap images remain bitmaps. Unsupported vector content or missing images produces an export error rather than an incomplete document. Your original file is never changed.
