Automate document workflows
GlyphGlance provides Preview File, Export as PDF, and Get Document Information actions for Shortcuts. Export returns a PDF file; add Shortcuts’ Save File action to choose its destination. These actions use the document’s detected Markdown profile and language, independently of other open windows.
For a trusted MCP client, open GlyphGlance → Settings… → Automation. Choose document folders the client may read and separate folders for new PDF exports, then enable MCP and copy its client configuration. Opening preview windows requires its own permission. MCP is off by default; it has no network listener or global helper. Turn it off or remove folders to revoke access, including access from existing sessions.
Only permit folders you want the client to read. A client may send returned document text to its own services. Closing document windows does not stop a connected MCP session; disconnect the client or turn MCP off. Existing PDFs are never overwritten.
